Lower your Dallas County property taxes
DCAD sets a new value every year. We compare yours with similar homes nearby — both what they sold for and how DCAD valued your neighbors — and argue it down. 25% of first-year savings, only if you save.
What a too-high value costs you
If your home is assessed at $500,000 but similar homes point to about $460,000, you're taxed on $40,000 too much. At a 2.23% rate that's about $892 a year. Our fee would be $223; you'd keep $669.
What gets missed in Dallas County
- Unequal appraisal. Similar homes on your street can be valued lower than yours. Texas lets you protest that directly.
- Condition grades. DCAD rates condition from the street; inside, your home may be dated.
- Land values. Lot values can jump from block to block with little explanation.
- Last year's win, ignored. If your value was lowered last year, DCAD must meet a higher standard to raise it again.
Insider tip: Evidence filed at least 14 days before your hearing can shift the burden of proof onto DCAD.

Exemptions to check
Your homestead exemption takes $140,000 off your home's value for school taxes ($200,000 if you're 65+ or disabled), and caps how much your taxable value can rise each year at 10%. Over-65 and disabled owners also get a school-tax ceiling. We check your exemptions free at sign-up.
Dallas County questions
Can protesting raise my value?
No. The Appraisal Review Board can lower or keep your value, not raise it.
How do you file for me?
You sign Form 50-162, which appoints us as your agent with DCAD.
Should I protest every year?
Usually yes. Values reset yearly, and a lower value carries forward.
