Lower your Tarrant County property taxes
The Tarrant Appraisal District now reappraises homes every other year, and 2027 is a reappraisal year with a large increase expected. That makes the 2027 protest especially important: a lower value carries forward. 25% of first-year savings, only if you save.
What a too-high value costs you
If your home is assessed at $400,000 but similar homes point to about $370,000, you're taxed on $30,000 too much. At a 2.15% rate that's about $645 a year. Our fee would be $161; you'd keep $484.
What gets missed in Tarrant County
- Catch-up increases. After two years without reappraisal, 2027 values may jump more than your own home's market supports.
- Unequal appraisal. Similar homes nearby can come in lower than yours. Texas lets you protest that directly.
- Condition. TAD rates condition from records, not from inside your home.
- Assuming the 10% cap protects you. The cap limits taxable value on a homestead, but your market value still matters for later years and if you sell.
Insider tip: In a reappraisal year, file even if your taxable value is capped: lowering the market value now protects you in the years after.

Exemptions to check
Your homestead exemption takes $140,000 off your home's value for school taxes ($200,000 if you're 65+ or disabled), and caps how much your taxable value can rise each year at 10%. Over-65 and disabled owners also get a school-tax ceiling. We check your exemptions free at sign-up.
